In the Curious Case of the dog in the nighttime Young Christopher investigates a neighbors dead dog. He is told many times to mind his own business but works around it. He also is to discover whether his mother is dead or not. There are many things for him to search for and learn.
He is a special boy that goes to a special school. His teacher has assigned him to write a book in which we get the story we read. That is literally his book. He needs help with emotion and discovering himself. Throughout this book he learns of himself and of his knack for pushing himself beyond his comfort zone.
